The M5 Ranch is very happy and excited to announce that we have purchased most of the Cobra breeding herd along withStarla and Headliner exclusive outside breeding rights to Cobra’s Red Man.  We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to acquire an established breeding program that has been built with years of dedication and devotion for the future of the Mediterranean Miniature Donkey.  The clean genetics Cobra herd has proven to be an excellent outcross for most miniature donkey programs.  

Our breeding program is based on the husbandry for the health and well being of our donkeys and the foals they produce.  The foals will be left with their mothers until they are naturally weaned; therefore, our jennets will only be bred every 2-3 years (allowing them a rest and recovery between breedings).   This ensures the health and well-being of the foals, the jennets and their future foals.

Our goal is to continue producing miniature donkeys of structure and proportion, preserving clean genetics.  Our reward is the daily sharing of cuddling and affection during grooming and the anticipation and thrill of one-on-one play time as the foals practice leading, hoof handling, loading, and clipping.
